Just as an off-topic, but I have noticed that some people were talking about when to take out the open-hole plugs. For most, it does help to take out one at a time, but for me, it helped to take them out all at one time. It wasn`t my decision, granted, but I learned within a week or two, and I never put them back in. Your fingers just learn to adapt quicker when they don`t have a fallback. I know it`s kind of an unorthodox method, but it worked for me!

Richard, there are several professionals that don`t play open holed flutes, but most do. Tone quality is said to be better.

Ian, I think you will be happy with the 3SB. That one should carry you throughout highschool and through college if you go.

I haven`t found any differences with the plugs. My Gemeinhardt has the plastic ones. Good Luck
