Hi, as you might know i`m looking into buying a Gemeinhardt 3B with a gold lip plate. Now i have a question about Inline and Offest G Key. I know what they are, but i don`t know which one to get. Right now i play a flute with Offest G. Is it hard to adjust from Offest to Inline? Thanks for your time!! and btw. Is it true that a gold plated lip plate produces a better sound then a silver plated one?

I think that the gold lip plate helps your tone become richer and darker. Its what I have noticed since I got mine.

Both inline and offset G create the same sound, so that doesn`t matter. Some people get inline because they think it looks nicer, but the truth is, offset is closer to the shape of your hand. If your current flute was inline, then we`d have a problem, because it is supposedly difficult to switch back and forth, but since you have an offset G already, the answer is clear: go with the offset G.
Happy fluting!
