I am in the 8th grade and I am a member of the middle school and high school band. I am first chair (for both bands) on flute and piccolo. I was wondering if anyone had any good sites for flute & piccolo tips& techniques. I might have 2 play a piccolo solo for the spring concert and I really need help.

Don`t go it alone - get some professional help. The National Flute Association has a web site that can take you to your local flute club. Have one of your parents call the contact and get names and numbers of local professional flute teachers. DO NOT go to someone who is not primarily a flutist - you`ll be wasting your time.

There are sites - but the best use of your time is to ask a professional. Lessons aren`t as expensive as you may think and if things are tight, you can ask the teacher just to give you one or two to help with your upcoming solo.
