I`m going to grade 11 next year and I`ve trouble playing the flute I use to play the clarinet but...I want to play the flute instead but...I can hardly play it, I also want to meet friends that can play the flute well please if you`re one of them please tell me your e-mail address in the replies okay...

I;m a flautist and a saxophonist so I sorta know where you`re comin` from. Your main problem is probably that you`re tensing up too much at the mouth; the flute has a very relaxed embrechour (I can`t spell that word; sorry) It`s like saying `p` or `b` but sustained. You have to have a lot of control over your diaphragm. For lower notes, relax as much as possible, for higher registers, tense up a little. Try not to aim the air from your mouth into the flute; blow across the mouthpiece. Thats the REALLY REALLY basic stuff. To learn to play well? Best way is to practice as often as you can, my friend.
