I have the exact same problem.
I`ll be playing, and I`ll go to lift that finger, and my finger will be stuck and bent in, lol. All I can say is, don`t stiffen up that finger. Keep it loose and don`t bend it in when you hit the keys over there. Try to keep it rounded if you can. Also make sure your right thumb is directly underneath your pointing finger. I find that I`m more likely to get stuck if it slips toward my left hand.

I have the same problem. I play clarinet and flute so I tend to get really mad when it gets stuck because I wind up having to stop so I can release the joint. i have the problem a lot and the only thing that I can say is that you might have to put up with it until it causes you pain. I have the pain and found that surgery can help the finger glide because it is not really another joint it is actually the tendons that get stuck and stop you from opening up your finger. Right now I do not have the money for any type of surgery because I am getting over with treatments for cancer so I try my best and if it hurts just keep with the ice. Try to have fun.

im sorry about that
update: I asked my new band teacherabout it and he told me that yeah my thumb needs to be farther under my fingers, because it balances the flute better and puts less stress on ur right hand... so im gonna get a thumb guard for my flute soon... for now i just try to shift my thumb
