I can totally see where you are coming from when you say that you`re tried of people giving you crud. I felt the same way. That`s a really good accomplishment to be among the top five from your state. Obviously you`re a hard worker! You deserve everything you get, when you work hard. I went to flute camp, practice three hours a day or more, take flute lessons, am first chair, and am a member of the All-Region Band. But, when I made All-Region Band everyone was hating on me, when they`re the ones who said that, "If you don`t make it, then that`s just wrong." I felt like I couldn`t take it, but like you said, I realized that I wasn`t doing it for them. I am and will continue to do it for myself because that`s what I love to do. Just don`t let people`s crud get to you, and play your heart out !

you know, whatever, if you`re going to play this "I don`t
remember" thing then go right ahead. I was trying to be
sympathetic to you and it turned into something way out of hand
you know what since I was trying to be a good person and be
sympathetic, to all what it`s worth I`m sorry. Another thing is
that I shouldn`t have recieved any of the crap that ya`ll are
putting on my name. I don`t know what it`s like to do a huge
audition so I guess I`ll think before being sympathetic to
someone. I`ll say congratulations to you just don`t have a fit
about that kay. well congratulations to you and all ya`ll who
did well on their state ranking auditions and good luck to
ya`ll who have them in the future.

just a message to tiffany. i really did appreciate you being sympathetic at the beginning of this thread...and i did actually go back and read the stuff that you and i wrote and no where do i cuss you out. i must admit i was wondering why you snapped at me. but it`s all good. so maybe this might be an misunderstanding on my part, so sorry if i offended you. and to clear up something: i truly respect people who do what they do because they love it, and people who have developed some amazing musical talent by being dedicated. so i don`t want to be branded as a bitch or anything! it`s quite hard to tell in forums. i hope we`re good from here. if not, i wish you the best all the same.

Everything I guess was a misunderstanding and I don`t brand
anyone or anything because everyone has their moments. So all`s
good and everythings dropped. Also playing for yourself and for
the love of music is a good thing and it can get frustrating
because playing music isn`t something that everyone does. I
play for the love and thats why I also got into piano. I hope
everything in the future goes well as for mine own and
everybody else

Hey there, I`m a flautist too, and I know how competitive it can get! But when I decide to audition for something or even just an ordinary day in band rehearsal when sum1 else gets a solo or whatever, you can`t let urself get sucked up into all of that. Just let it be about you and the music. It sucks when people who are SO less dedicated and probably less talented than you get in, but there will always be another part& rather than getting mad about it, chalk it up to experiance and move on. Thats what makes you Real.

My very interesting friend says she doesn`t want to be on MSN or chat anymore because she just naturally bashes people and it`s kinda like her hobby to get into a msn fight... wierd isnt it? but it`s true for sum people.

It is tough not to be so critical, and I can understand where everyone is coming from. I have won and lost many auditions, and have been ranked anywhere from first to last in my band and my state. No one should put another down, but sometimes things are misinterperited and people freak....
And, it is also about the persons personality..some people are naturally brash, and others just want to be heard. If you want to reach the top, more power to you!!!
