how does vibrato work? i heard it`s something about using your diaphragm but i got no idea how it feels like. can anybody help?

It kinda feels like laughing but dont actually laugh when u do it. say hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo really slow. accent the hoo`s. that should help, it worked for me!!! ~MacFlutey

well, what I was told (and this was from another student, so I cant verify it completely) is that you flex and unflex your diaphram muscles as you play, and depending on the speed at which you do that, you can get different sounding vibrato. When a friend demonstrated it, it seemed to work, but as I said before, I have no idea if thats that professional or "official" method.

yeah they have pretty much covered it. I had to "opera sing" just pulse your diaphram...this is best used for lower notes... when you get that down you can open and close your throat. that is harder though.

hi. Um i do vibrato on the flute. this is how my teacher toaught me how to do it. Do stomach kicks. Basically like blow out air (sorta like panting) oo oo oo oo oo. yeah. its hard to explain. then use your flute and pick out a middle not u like. do the stomch kicks on the note. Then sorta slur `em together. once you get the feel for it go faster and faster. eventually u`ll make it a habbit. thanks. bibi.
