["I can play the Eb scale 3 octaves so that would make the note Eb4 I tink so, but it depends on how mush power you blow in to your flute."]
Sorry I ment to say that when you get to thoes high notes yes u do have to blow alot hard and focus, and the notes are different like that veary high Eb it`s fingered like high eb just with the trill down.

Patrick wrote: "I think only dogs can hear some of those notes..."
You`ve already been told by 2 people, so I`ll just be a nerd and post some factual information pertaining to that.
The human hearing range is from approximately 20 - 20 000 Hertz. The lowest note on a piano, A0, has a frequency of 27.5 Hz, while the highest note, C8, has a frequency of approximately 4186.01 Hz. So, there are plenty of notes above C8 which humans can hear. Not that they`d sound that nice, especially on a piccolo *shudders*, but they are audible, nevertheless.

Kevin wrote "P.S that thing with the cats and dogs can only hear the veary veary high notes is not true."
I think you are probably wrong there, Kevin. There are many `learned` references that give figures more like dogs, depending on breed and health, hearing to 60000 Hz.
Interesting table at the bottom of this link. Some animals can hear quite a lot higher than that.

I sure can`t play any higher than C. But that C comes out quite easily. Does anybody know fingerings for piccolo for higher notes?

Just to let you know ARAK that not everthing off the internet is ture. so maybe go ask a science teacher, cuz the only thing that can make a higher sound then a flute is maybe a jet.

Lol! What are you on? I would like some!
The piccolo is a whole octave higher than the flute, so that would make it higher than the flute. Duh.....

If you find a fingering for that, I would sure like to see it when you do. The piccolo does not have a footjoint like the flute making it impossible to fingering anything higher than a C as far as I know. If I am wrong, please correct me.

I have never been able to get any higher than the high C, and I have no idea why anyone would want to play any higher than that. Oh and someone told Arak not to believe everything on the internet. The article is from Louisiana State University so I would consider that to be a credible source.

Yes ninafire, Nagahara piccolos do, but how many people own one? They are a rare luxury to some.
They are really neat, but I think that it kind of defeats the purpose a bit of it being a piccolo. If you want to play lower, why not just play the flute? ...but still, it would be fun to have one.

Absolutely agree with you on that! I don`t play picc enough anymore to justify owning anything more expensive that my little wood Armstrong. But wouldn`t it be a neat thing to NOT have to justify?
A little bird told me that Emerson is making a cylindrical bore silver picc with a c-foot. I haven`t been able to confirm this however. Maybe it`s still in the design or concept stages. Alas, nothing on their website.
