Hi there, I am wondering how you might go about teaching a student to form a correct embouchure, and how to improve your tounging and staccato`ing.
Thanks for any help

to know how far down your mouth should be to get the best tone, slip a sheet of paper between the reed and the mouthpieceand mark it. It sounds wierd, but it works!

Actually, Chuck, in double tounguing, you do use a "ta" and a "ka" sound. However, beginners do not usually learn this skill straight away, so you are right there.

Oh, and Lauren, another way to do that is to place your bottom lip over the point at which the reed contacts the mouthpiece. Both methods give the same results.
