Oh, how do you like the rico royals? Do they have good response, I`ve wanted to try one to see if it worked better than the vandoren 2.5`s that I use.

I use Vandoren V12`s. I just moved up to a 3.5.
I think plastic reeds should be used only for marching band.
Mitchell Lurie reeds are good too.

I was using Rico 2, but my band director requires everyone to use at least a 2.5, so now I use Rico Blue or Rico 2.5

I use Rico Royal 2½ and tried some Alexander DC reeds. I also tried a Légère synthetic reed. It sounds pretty good for a synthetic, it looks nothing like those Woodwind & Brasswind plasitc mold reeds.
But I still think that cane sounds better.

my mom acidentally bought a box of rico 2`s (¬_¬`) so right now i`m trying to finish that box. i think i should be at strength 3 or 3.5 by now but i have to finish that stupid box. there were lke 10 reeds in that thing. anyways, i guess i have to slowly move to 2.5, then 3 instead of jumping straight to 3.

I switch between Rico Royal 3 and 3.5, depending on what I have in my case and what kind of notes I will be playing. I use a 3 more often, but I ran out so until I get more I am using 3.5.

On alto clarinet--Vandoren 2 1/2 without a doubt. There is no equivalent to the sound in the Rico Royales or the other numerous brands I`ve tried (I got a whole `party bag` of reeds to try for Christmas I was so excited for my reeds, lol)
On the normal Bb Soprano--Traditional 4 Vandoren. I really like the sound that I would get in the upper registers and it was easy enough to play Occasionally I had a 4 1/2, but can`t do that anymore, not used to that strength, lol, as Bb Soprano is no longer my main instrument.
