My name is Brandon I go to Broken Arrow High School Broken Arrow OKlahoma. I was just seein if anyone else marches out there.

While I have never marched BOA, many of my friends have. In fact, my good friend went to Broken Arrow HS and marched bass clarinet back in 2000 if memory serves. Also, another good friend went to Lassiter HS when they won the grand champion. My fraternity brother was a drum major for Ooltewah HS. From their stories, it kind of makes me wish I could have gone. Being a band director now, I guess I will have to take my own band.

BTW, I marched in the "Pride of the Southland" at the University of Tennessee. My first year in marching band we went and won the national championship in football. So marching was certainly fun.

Our band does not march in BOA itself, but many bands here in Iniana do. The bands here in southern Indiana take marching band very seriously, but I attend a smaller, not-very-well-funded-in-the-fine-arts school, so we only participate in statewide competitions.

Allie...what part of southern Indiana? I grew up in Connersville, close to Ohio and south of Richmond.

Sorry, I`m on the other side in Mt.Vernon, closer to Evansville and Jasper. In fact, our town makes up most of that wierd corner of Indiana. I`m not sure I`ve heard of Connersville, though.

Ditto...I have not heard of Mt. Vernon, but I do pass through Jasper when going to IU!

Would it be easier to say that the town is about 15 minutes away from Southern Indiana University and 45 minutes from Evansville University?

Yes, my school marched in BOA at St. Louis for the first time this year. I go to Lee`s Summit North High School and we marched the Divine Comedy. I saw you guys from Broken Arrow march and you were fantastic! I think we got 21st. We`re coming back next year and we`ll be marching Eric Whitacre (Temuna from Five Hebrew Love Songs, Godzilla Eats Las Vegas, and Equus). Hope to see you in the fall at BOA!
