Hey all,
I`m a music education major in college with the job of cleaning out musical instrument lockers. FUN. Yeah...
Anyways, I found an old (but amazingly well kept) LeBlanc BBb contrabass clarinet (paperclip model) in complete working condition. Needless to say, I was extremely giddy. I would LOVE to play this beast but I`m afraid that the peg that came with the horn is too frail and I might accidentally drop the horn while playing it. Using a neckstrap for it would be very taxing on my back as well.
Is there anything any of you could suggest to me?
Thank you for your time!

ehh... find a box and use that as supprt. a few years ago our bass clarinettist didn`t have a spike so she had to subsitute it by using her case since the bell wouldn`t reach the floor. lol. worked fine.

I`ve been wanting SO BAD to try to find and play a contrabass, but a) our band is almost too small for our three bass clarinets and b) too much money I don`t have.
Anyway, is it possible to put another peg on? Maybe you could take it to a shop and they can replace it for a minimal charge.
