Does anyone have any info on a Paul Jarman clarinet? (French made)
I`m hearing two widely different opinions on it. Once source says it is a piece of junk and the other says it was a high-priced, limited edition that came out in the 1960`s. Occasionally one shows up on ebay with, again, a wide difference of opinion.

One seller says his family bought it new in 1966 for $300, it`s great and he put a $400 starting bid on it. (no takers) Another one with a $50 minimum drew no bids. (Perhaps because no one had ever heard of a Paul Jarman?)

I got one at a low price but it seems to be of high quality. Tapping on the bell produces a fine resonance, workmanship looks good. But it is in need of pads so I can`t play and hear it.

Also, I`m mostly an alto sax player and not the one to be judging a clarinet.

I`m not sure if I should sink the dough into servicing this or not. Can anyone offer any info?

Thanks in advance. Buddy West
