Are there any obvious differences in sound between a metal clarinet and a wooden or ebonite clarinet?

Check out my forum, forumofthesaxes.myfreeforum.org It has a clarinet forum!

I found a metal clarinet in a nearby thrift store. It is extremely hard to play because the tubing is really thin. It sounds more "brassy" than a wooden clarinet

hi with the clarinets that i have played i have found that the wooden ones sound alot better than the metal ones though the harder ones to play are the wooden ones with the metal insides! the wooden ones are easier to play because it doesnt take as much breath to play and is alot easier to play on a cold day(i had friend who played the flute and on a cold day shehad to hold the dlute infront of a heater to get it warm enough to play) so wooden instruments are better and clarinets are best!
