Hello again everyone. warning, this is just a long bunch of pretty much nothing, but i feel like writing.

I am a junior in high school, and ive been playing for 7 years. since 5th grade, ive played on a wooden selmer CL200, with a B45 mouthpiece and mitchell lurie 4 reeds. well, at one point i switched to V12 3.5`s. anyway, i sure did love my little selmer. i mean, i put it through hell and it still sounded great. i played it in the rain, freezing, humid, dry, hot, hotter, and nothing ever went wrong with it.. not a single pad fell out, not a crack ever appeared.

so i want to pursue music for the rest of my life, and so i told me mom i needed a better clarinet. after some pursueding, i recieved an R13. and oh my.

obviously, its going totake some adjusting to be able to play it as well as i did my selmer, for one may know that the keywork and bore of the two are very different. i guess i naturally learned all the little twirks and embochure adjustments for every note on my selmer, to make it in tune, and i knew all the little things i had to do to play that horn. but, i dont need to adjust while playing my r13 at all, which is so weird. its like playing a little piece of heaven... haha

has anyone else felt like they need to make major adjustments when they switch horns? was my selmer really that bad or is my buffet that good? probably a combination of both, but what have you all expierenced?

peace, love.

Buffet really is that good. When I switched to my R13 for college- wow, what a difference! Not saying my selmer signet before hand was BAD just, the R13 is really good!

You should try a Rossi Rosewood Clarinet one day! Talk about perfect!
