I have a concert tonight with my summer/community band, and it's outside. I play a Leblanc Opus II, brand new. It's not supposed to be about 84 degrees, and the sun will be going down at concert time. Humidity, right now in the morning is 83%. Is it okay to play outside with that clarinet? I really don't want to use my plastic Artly.

I wouldn't unless you think the wood is well broken in and completely stable. New horns normally aren't stabilized for a while, even if the wood is well seasoned before being made.

That said, you'll probably be alright with your conditions, just don't take it out of a cold car. Let it warm up really gradually to be safe.

Good Luck!

I did it, and it doesn't seem to have any damage. Hopefully, my luck will hold out for the other four concerts, this month.

Well, don't use wood when it's really hot and sunny. A wooden clarinet should have a darker tone. Constantly blow warm air into the horn, play a lot of warm ups before you leave. But don't play so loud that your lips will get tired.

Firstly, get a warenty. If you really have to play in the rain [like in marching band] then have some oil. My private lessons teacher told me to leave me clarinet assembled [without the mouthpeice] out for a few hours in a safe place at home years ago when I first got my clarient so that's basically the same thing as the others said.
