I'm right now looking for a new ligature for both my Bb-clarinet and Eb-clarinet. Right now I use a vandoren Optimum on my Bb and a BG revelation-something on the Eb.
I heard that Francois Loire should be very nice (they are only made for Bb), but does anyone use this? It's only available in one store in Denmark and it's a long way from home

In my search for more I saw a Ligaphone ligature called universal. Does anyone has any experience with that?

Any other suggestions are welcome (but I'm not looking for the traditional one with two screws)

rovner seem to be pretty popular - I use one, and love it.

have a look and see what you think.

You're thinking of "Francois Louis". There's a bunch of places that sell them online and would probably ship to you. This site has good pics ... http://www.junkdude.com/saxes/flligs.htm

Beware ... I've heard from sax players that they will warp your reed, and of course, they're very delicate.

Let us know what you think of it if you get one.

I wasn't that impressed with Optimum when I had it. I use a Rovner now. I use them on both my Eb and my Bb. I love my Eb mouthpiece though! Vandoren doesn't make the A1 crystal mouthpiece anymore. Maybe it will be worth some money one day...ROFL. Probably not! (I also have not heard the best things of Ligaphone products)
