Im so sad, my cuz thought it was funny to swing my clarinet around but b4 i stoped him half it went fly! my cousin got scared and droped the other half! the half the fell broke into pieces! all the keys were on the floor! the other half made all the keys brake off and the cork where the bell it at broke! I am so scared. what is there for me 2 do! there is no way this could be repaired and i cant tell my parents! espacially not my band director. i guess ill be getting detentions for the rest of the year! and i cant just blame it on my cousin hell be crying like a baby! plz some1 help what is there that i can do! i dont want 2 be caught. i dont even no how much it will cost for a new clarinet. OMG! what is there 4 me 2 do? i feel as sad as this face

Honesty is the best solution. Just tell your parents and band director the truth. Perhaps this will be a good thing and you will get a new clarinet that is better. But, yeah, that sounds like what happened to my mom when she was younger...Way younger. Her sister let the two neighbor boys across the street borrow my mom's clarinet, and they broke it. I don't know if that will make you feel any better. I hope it does. But try as hard as you can to go into this situation optimistically, no matter how hard it is.

Like everyone else said. The truth is the best solution. Even if your band director gets really mad, don't let it bother you, because it wasn't your fault. Maybe if you don't feel comfortable telling the band director yourself, you could have your parents tell him/her.

If you don't tell anyone, the problem will probably just grow. Besides, the school should have some sort of warrenty right?

This one seventh grader last year(he's now an eighth grader) he completely broke his bass clair. My old director totally got !***!ed but then she forgave him. And then she gave him another one and he didn't have to pay anything. Best get it over with eh?

Firstly your cousin should really not have been playing with an instrument that wasn't theirs.

Secondly, it's your cousins fault. Not yours. So tell the truth. It'll work out.
