Would someone or more care to discuss mid-priced clarinet brands. I know who the main ones are, LeBlanc, Selmer and Buffet. I would like to find out about the general differences. I can already play and doubt that I would need lessons...I also play the violoncello (cello), however, I need lesson there :-) Thank you....Russell

Russell, first of all you should take lessons to you stop playing....I know a man who took lessons clear up through the age of 77 when he died. He realized the importance of different techniques and interpretations of clarinet playing.
As far as mid-ranged instrumetns. It`s not really worth the hassle....you can`t play real great on a not so great instrument...always take the best available to you. I play in a Buffet R-13 I absolutely love it.

I can already do with the clarinet what I want to do...my main thing is the cello....I do take lessons here.....
I agree, I need to get the best clarinet I can afford...hence the my question....is Selmer, LeBlanc, or Buffet have the best features....I intend to pay some money....no El Cheapo for me....
