ya i find that rude and uncool ,like i have a solo in the arrangment for lord of the rings and its good this one is not from the movie .but i have a double in the barisax and thats a loud thing

I am a bass clarinet player and I was in a band and I got tones of solos. The bass clarinet has and amazing sound and I love to play it.

Just yesterday i played a bass clarinet solo, and i have heard nothing but awesome compliments on it!. it was called Deepwood, by David Bennitt. It is a great peice that really focuses on the chromatic scale. no worries. there is a ton of bass clarinet music out there. trouble is, no one can really appreciate the instrument because there aren`t many virtuoso bass clarinetists out there. Good Luck. ANd i already know that you will impress people just for getting out there and playing this wonderful yet highly underrated instrument.

I`ve played clarinet, bass clarinet, and contra bass.I like playin them all but my fav is bass.O and ive gotten a couple solos in band

i just played a bass solo yester day saddly it did not go as planned the bari sax over powered me and was rushing ..she is tooo loud

First I played the soprano clarinet, then I played bass in 8th grade, and now, as a freshman, I play the contra. Nothing is better than the contra! It has very easy music, but sometimes that can be a good thing! The contra has the best part though, because it plays so low! Everyone turns around and looks at me when i play my lowest notes in band!

I`ve been playing clarinet (all of them) for about 5 years- guitar for 7- piano for 9- and percussion (I mostly play bass drum and snare)i`ve been playing since last year. Im section leader at my school-for the clarinets-im leader in the b flats and altos- b/c I alternate every other day. .I love it --Marching band rocks!~

I play the Bass Clarinet in my school`s Wind Ensamble and I had a solo in some of our marching band music. It was in Baby Boy by Beyonce. Bass Clarinet rocks!

I`m a bass clarinet student at Baker U, in Kansas. I love playing and was a convert from sop. The only solo I`ve had is a part written for me in a piece my director wrote for our band. It was short but cool. There is a guy in our band here that plays contra, but he really sucks.

Wow, I didn`t know that there were so many other bass clarinet players out there. I love the bass clarinet! I`ve played the soprano clarinet for about 3 years, bass clarinet for 2. I`ve had one bar solos, but thats it. As for playing in my school band -- senior band is great, and non of the parts are boring or annyoing, but in intermediate band the marches drive me insane with the eighth note repetivite phrases.
