I play clarinet but i switched to oboe and its totally fun...and its a challenge if you want something harder...or bass clarinet, contra bass, and alto clariet are all really fun too. i like oboe better though.

I totally agree. Bassoon rocks! I played clarinet since 5th grade, and I have never regretted switching. Plus I still play clarinet a lot, like in marching band, solo/ensemble contest, and just whenever my band director needs another clarinet. There's only catch in switching to bassoon: you have to learn bass clef. You've gotta be dedicated, but it's worth it.
PS
Eb clarinet is cool, too.

Flute and sax aren't that bad to switch to. Trumpet and horn are bad for your embouchure, but they are fun. My personal favorite (other than clarinet, of course) is bassoon. As long as you think about the fingerings rather than where the note is, and you think of the note name when you are learning it, bass clef isn't that bad. For years I resisted learning bass clef fluently(I compose) but then when I picked up bassoon it was just... natural to play bass clef. Sometimes if I switch back and forth fast I get lost, and will play treble clef on bassoon or bass clef on clarinet. The cool thing about bassoon is that the fingerings are kind of like the low register of the clarinet.
Oboe is cool too, but I found that it is EXTREMELY difficult to pick up after clarinet. And it KILLS your embouchure.
Good luck!
