the tenor sax reeds really aren't off topic- they could be the problem. (or part of it)

out of curiosity, (NOT trying to criticize anyone) when you refer to your teacher, do you mean a general band teacher, or a specialized private lesson clarinetist sort of teacher?

Well i play bari sax and i use an oboe reed.... lets think about that. i cant see how thats gonna help any... bass clarient= bass clarient reeds...
theres my 2 cents....

Hi, I am somewhat new to Bass Clar, but I found something that that really helped. It's called a Contabass Clarinet. I have no idea what happened when I played that ridiculus(but cool) instument, but my tounging was easier and my tone was much inproved when I switched back to regular bass. YOU MUST buy bass clarinet reeds, your teach has no idea what they are talking about.
