Hello everyone. I am almost a senior in high school, as well as a somewhat advanced clarinetist. as a senior i am to chose a couple of outstanding solos to play for scholarships, auditions, msboa, and things of that nature.
If any of you more advanced clarinetists know of any REALLY good solos with piano accompanists, please reply asap? your help would be greatly appreciated.
If possible, please email any suggestions to dblxw@yahoo.com
Thanks again!!!

Cavallini's Adagio E Tarantella is great! Weber's Concertino is a good one to learn. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is another option.

Weber's Concerto's 1 and 2 are great as is his Introduction, Theme and Variations. Brahms are technically hard but the clarinet part and the piano part act as two parts instead of the piano accompanying the clarinet. The two parts are very complex and hard to line up perfectly. Also if you are up for it there is Rossini's Intro, Theme and Variations

I'm a bit younger than you, I'm going to be a Junior next year, but I have some suggestions.

Mozart Clarinet Concerto (of course)
Weber's Concerto's (I just played them, and I LOVE them)
Weber Concertino (played it Freshman year, awesome)
Weber Grand Duo Concertant (the 3rd movement pwns at life, I played it super speedy at S&E and it was great)
Hindemith Sonata (listen to it a few times before you try to play it, it gets better the more times you listen to it)
Premiere Rhapsodie-Debussy(it sounds freaking awesome, I just started playing it, and it is VERY difficult...)
Stravinksy Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet (also very difficult, and I've only really messed around with it...)

Good luck!!

Oh, and you said MSBOA, like Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association? Are you trying out for All-State? I did it last year, and it was SOOOO fun!

If its not the MSBOA I'm thinking of, then nevermind hehe.
