Howdy evderyone! I have a wooden clarinet that I love, it sounds so gorgeous! I don`t want to risk ruining it during marching season. I just returned from band camp and now it has several tiny cracks, not all thwe way through though. Is bore oil enough to keep it from crackinh more? Is there a sealent out there? Or will I have to ask the band director if he has a plastic one I can use during the season? Or will I have to buy one? Please help, I don`t want to risk my beautiful clarniet to the heat and cold!
Thank a bunch
Shan

What possessed you to take it to band camp in the first place?!?!?!?!?!
NEVER play your wooden horn outside! Especially your primary horn...
Bore oil will make the problem worse, so DO NOT oil it until it`s fixed, and ask your repairman/woman if it can even be oiled after that.
You have to use a plastic horn, so unless you can get one I suggest you don`t march(until you can get hold of one).

Poor clarinet being abused like that......

definately get a plastic clarinet, rent one or buy one it doesn`t matter but DO NOT bring your wooden clarinet outside. especially if it`s raining it`s like sticking your clarinet in a bucket of water-not cool.
