HI i've been playing Clarinet for 3 years and well...i can play songs that are in the intermidiate level. The songs here in 8notes, are not exactly what i was looking for. It says intermidiate, but its to easy. I rarly go shopping because we have a family job that consumes all of our time. And when i do go shopping and i ask one of my parents if i can go to the music shop for music, they always answer 'Check on the internet, its a waste of money to buy it.' So well, i DID look in the internet and found nothing. So now i ask you...Can you help me get music sheets that my one and only requirment? I NEED music because im now a freshman and well, i need to practice but with what? Made up notes that have a random and made up rhythme? That wont help. Please help me. Heres my email address if you will help me...Thank you...

The internet can be difficult for that sort of thing. Many sites require you pay a fee annually to be able to download music they call difficult, and much of it isn't even for clarinet. There are plenty of books out there, and I am sure you can find them at the music store. It really isn't a waste of money. Benny Goodman (look him up if you don't know who he is. All clarinetists should) wrote a method book that is filled with plenty of scales and finger exercises and stuff that's good for practice. Ask the owner of your local music store if he or she can order any older music book, like ones written in the 30s or 40s. They tend to have actually difficult stuff, music that was REQUIRED back then to make it in the music business. There are also good books edited by a guy names Voxman.

Since you are going to be a freshman, i would
recommend that you talk to your band
director to see if he can find you some
harder music to practice. Most high schools
have music library's so just ask your
director if you can look through and find
something you want to play. Also not to be mean
i'm just trying to help but when i made the jump
from middle to high school band, i
found that the music got harder
so just wait and see what happens when
you start school.

hope i helped

I had the same problem too! I also like the 32 etudes, and the 40 studies books are challenging.Where I live we have to play etudes from the books for all-state band. If your looking for some hard solos, the 1st sonata in F minor, and the 2nd sonata in E flat major by Brahms are good. The Five Bagatelles, op.23 by Gerald Finzi are fun, the 5th solo, Fughetta is the hardest out of all them. Those are my favorite. I hope that helps!

www.sibeliusmusic.com has very excellent pieces in all skill ranges. I suggest you check out there, search for "grade 6-8 clarinet music" and I'm sure you will be able to find something.

Words of wisdom.

Make sure you make your search for "Free" music, because otherwise it will all cost money. With over three pages full of free clarinet solo music, I highly doubht you'll ever need music agian.
