I must agree with you. This forum is a place where any standard of clarinettist, other musicians, or even wonna-be's, can communicate, get advice, het help, and even some inspiration. People of all standards post here, and it should be a safe place to post opinions, without slander. People are quite happy to read alternative views here, and, indeed, that's one reason why we're here.
Phil, if you think you are so good, why are you here in the first place? This is a place where there are beginners, however, you are by no means an expert. There are many people in the world better than you. I have no doubt that you have technical skill - but it would seem that you dont have the patients or passion to become great, like you claim. Skill is only, what, 20% of music, if that.
No-one want to hear you showing off, bragging, selling yourself - whatever you want to call it.
your the type of person who gives clarinettists and musicians a bad name. You are the type of person who makes the world a difficult place to live.
thats all,
Kato

I agree entirely. Phil, not to burst your bubble, but you do come off as full of yourself. Cool down your ego and just listen to the rightful opinions of others. You don't have to like it, but you still should do it.

I play the clarinet better than a machine can. Actually my nickname IS "the Machine" and I live up to it every day of my life. I can play eighth notes and quarter notes. When I am at community band and I have sixteenth notes, I just wait until the eighth notes come back. I can play the crap out of those when the time is right.<--- says phils profile.
rofl i play bass clarinet and can play 16th notes.. and he's full of him self.. out played by a bass clarinet smh..

Was Robert Marcellus smart and/or talented, particularly in regards to his clarinet playing? I would appreciate your honest, honest opinion, even if it comes with a load of crap.
Thank You,

Wow, I can't believe I'm getting involved in this, but anyway... I personally don't even think this Phil character is real, and if he is, he is an idiot. He goes on bragging about how he can play "8th note licks." Who can't play 8th notes? Perhaps he considers this an accomplishment because he is "self-taught," however, most of us learned to play eighth notes (and to play them "well," I might add) quite early in our musical careers. And in regards to his belief that "nobody can play 32nd notes": Yes, people can play 32nd notes. In fact, many, many, people can play 32nd notes. So, Phil, if you are an actual person, you obviously have much to learn. And if you are some made-up identity used by someone looking for a laugh, cut the crap, it's getting old.
<Added>
And one more thing: do not demand that somebody "speak English" when you can't even use adverbs correctly. (One "plays them well," not "plays them good.")
