I know this sounds stupid, but are the Bb clarinet and the soprano clarinet the same thing? Just curious!

Generally those terms are used interchangably, at least in general conversation like on these forums. They aren't exactly the same i guess, because there are soprano's in other keys, and technically a bass or contra would be a Bb clarinet too, but for most purposes the terms tend to both refer to the standard Bb soprano "normal clarinet".
