need to strengthen your fingers ?

Get a rubber ball and squeeze it with your weaker fingers
or
one of those finger strength builders, some music shops sell them.

Most likely, there is something wrong with the clarinet. Go to your local music and arts or some other music store (or if you're in a band ask your director to take a look at it) and have them take a look at it. Check all the springs, make sure none of them are popped out of place (if it is, all you have to do is pop it back into place- i had a spring out of place a few weeks ago and a few notes sounded way out of tune so my director fixed it in no time). also, look for any loose screws, if there's a loose one, find a small screwdriver and tighten the screw (just make sure you don't tighten it too much or it could mess up the clarinet). same goes for if there is a screw too tight, just loosen it a little, but not too much. If that doesn't fix your problem then it is definatly opperator error- it may possibly be the fingerings you're using or your ombisure may be too tight.

hope I helped,
Ash
