Our clarinet instructor at band camp told us that they make new coloruful clarinets. Does anyone have any experience with these? Is the quality any different? Also, what is your alls` range? Can anyone here go all they way up? (what is that anyway?) I can go to the double E. Have a ggggreat day!

I`ve never heard of colourful clarinets before. If they are made like that then it`s probably made of plastic. Wood clarinets are better.

interesting, I don`t know why you would want a colored clarinet though. I guess it would be kind of cool for marching bands and stuff but i don`t know.
I can go all the way up, it took me three years practicing on it though.

yeh what is all the way up? i think that a coloured clarinet might be good for marching but it would look very weird in an orchestra! i have a wooden clarinet and i think that it sounds much better than plastic but is not good for playing outside

I am not quite sure any more. It is summer and I haven`t practiced in ages. I think it is like triple E? I am not sure though, I will go an look. I probably can`t go all the way up anymore because I haven`t practiced. Ya, wood clarinets are the best.

Would you people be able to translate "double E" and all those terms into terms that I can understand, like maybe "upper altissimo" and the other NORMAL, ACCEPTED WAYS OF REFERRING TO THE REGISTERS OF THE CLARINET?

OH boy... I`ve seen the colored clarinets.. dang the yellow is ugly. Navy was pretty though! I wouldn`t trust them myself unless like.. Buffet makes em or someone really known. I would be scared to buy a colored one because of quality.

Yeah, what a sight to see. I think they`re probably very inexpensive and plastic, but that wouldn`t matter since clarinets aren`t especially known for having a great tone in marching band. Oh, and by the way, yes, I can go "all the way up."
