I have a used Vito reso-tone bass clarinet with the number 1467B. Does anyone know how to determine the age of this instrument ? Thank you.
Alan

Count the rings around the trunk.

Now that's what I call helpful. And anyway, my bifocals aren't strong enough.

Ah, well that gives me a rough determination of your age anyway--and without counting rings. Clearly, you're a bit long in the tooth compared to all the teenagers bopping about here. How long have you had your clarinet? It's at least that old.

My age ? Well, a very young 71. I started learning to read music in June 2006, and I bought the bass clarinet in July 2007. It's never too late you know !
