Hi! I'm a new clarinet instructor. I love it so far, but I have one student that I'm having trouble with. She is a great player. Practices and always come prepared. Her fingerings and counting are superb and ocassionally she plays something so beautifully I get tears.
Her embouchure is making her tone sound very restricted. She plays very sharp and her chin tends to stick out when she plays. I've tried telling her to drop her jaw, lighten up a little on the side, but she doesn't understand.
Any ideas?

Maybe you could tell her to stop putting as much pressure on the mouthpiece, and not put as much in her mouth?

Does her embouchure or chin position change if she is standing up instead of sitting down ?
