I've been playing clarinet for about 5 years and i am looking to purchase an advanced clarinet. If you could list some and were i could get them.

You may want to try a Buffet or a Selmer, not sure what models though.

If you have a plastic or a resotone clarinet you may want to upgrade to a wooden clarinet, they have a much better tone than plastic one's. any brand would be good, i have a wooden artley clarinet, you may also want to check yamaha and buffet models, but they are much more expenseive.

Buffet R13 is the standard for professional model clarinets. The models of R13 range in price from $3,000 to $7,000 depending on what you get and where you get it from. High-end Selmer's are also good, but ive personally never like selmers much, unless you find a good one. The new line of Selmers designed by Backun and Morales are quite good, especially the Legacy. Yamaha's are known for their professional models as much but they do have a few good high-end models.

I have a friend with a pair of clarinets from this guy. A set of 2 (Bb/A) for less than the price of one buffett. The tone is consistent, the scale is excellent. He is using them professionally.

I do not think you can get the same luscious sound as on the top Buffetts. However, they seem to be a top notch clarinet and for the price an excellent option for High School or College students. If you do choose to go Pro while you are in college you can get the Buffetts then (although probably all your m oney is invested in school - but get a student laoon to buy a clarinet).

buy a noblet 40 its expensive but thats because its a professional wooden clarinet i play on one for the moment and i totally love mine

^ the noblet 40 is an upper-end intermediate clarinet (i looked it up to check BEFORE posting this time, i learn!) it's a good clarinet, but not professional.

Buffet R13 clarinets are really nice! My teacher let me play on hers and I totally loved it! I'm getting one in a few weeks. If you go on the Buffet Crampon website you can find dealers near you so you can try them before you buy them! Or you can go to www.wwbw.com, they cost about $2700 but they are really nice!

I would suggest a buffet clarinet

either an E11 or R13 silver or nickel keys but silver dose not rust.

I bought a buffet R13 the world of clarinet playing seems so much brighter when you have a beautiful sounding clarinet

I wouldn't go for the E11 if you want something that high end.

Go for the R13. It will never let you down.
I currently play on the R13-Vintage and LOVE it.

The clarinet was bought new around 8 years ago, I played it for about a year then gave up (much to my parents dismay!). I've finally decided to shift it to release some cash as I don't see myself starting up again anytime soon! It was fully serviced with all keys cleaned etc (cost me £120) a couple of months ago. Due to its limited use and recent service it is in superb condition. It has silver keys and comes with two barrels (640 and 660mm), a Van Doren 5RV mouthpiece (and unused original mouthpiece), Rovner ligature and some unused reeds. The case is the original sturdy buffet case which is also in superb condition, with the exception of a minor scratch.

The serial number is 449397

R13s retail at about £1500 in the UK. This clarinet is still in superb condition and as such I am looking for offers near £1000
