grr i am so mad because i have been playing clarinet for 9 years!
and i have never really played a note above d (above the staff d)
and well now this year we played an e so it was ok but then now in concert season we are playing washington post adn some notes that are really difficult to play is a f# and of course the mother of all clarinet notes the G...grr everytime i play it sounds sqeeeekkkyyyy and horrible any suggestions...? oh i cant hit both the F# and teh G so yup please help!
the way tht it is finguered is the middle key finger and the first two keys from the the second half of the clarinet
if tht helps lol i cant explain it any other way!

Are you trying to do high G or low G???

I'd Say go with your standard 2|12 + resonance fingering. Just keep the air moving and use a lot of breath support.

P.S. - G is not the mother of all clarinet notes. The C above it is. . I have only rarely seen it (There are a few in Stoltzman's Aria Book).

^i've come accross that c in my beherman's scale excercise book, i think! :D
its fun. also its fun to startle people by playing the C scale four octaves (low C bass) by going up to that one.

anyway, high G. practice sluring up to it in scales and things just to get used to playing that high, then hitting it separate or whatever you need to do for washington post.
