I cant really get a good sound when I tongue notes, I have been playing for 1 year and I've quickly accelled to 1st clarinet of my school, I practice alot, and I also play trombone, (I have already worked passed the woodwind/brass embashure problem)What can be the problem? And my middle B tongues alot slower then other notes and it needs alot more air, hehehe, I'm pretty much telling you guys all my musical problems, and the reason why I need answers quick is because I need to refill on reeds and if my reed strength is the problem tell me if I should go from 2 1/2 to 3! And dont waste time writing stupid comments, just give me answers! quick!

I agree with music girl, usually harder to tounge with a stronger reed, I'm thinking that you just need to practise more, do a bunch of tounging excersises

wow hurry much? yea I played tuba for one year and going back to a woodwind wasn't hard. Practice tonguing drills and take the reed strength a step down, but just know that the lower the reed strength, the thinner your sound will be. Good luck!

Harder reeds are certainly better and it depends on the type of reed. I personally prefer Vandoren reeds and hate rico. Also being a brass player tonguing works differently (I also play a little trombone myself, right on!) Make sure you are using just the tip of your tongue behind your front teeth wear the gums meet. And use a light tongue, not to thick and heavy. As a musician, you probably know alot of this already though.
