you do know that your on a clarinet forum don't you???

but although I have stopped on Clarinet, I may still have occasional questions regarding it, and I also have knowledge on the instrument. Again, I meant my comment in a joking manner, not with the intention of slander, thus creating a forum war. My comment's purpose was to simply explicate where my standing was CURRENTLY, considering that I posted this forum originally a while ago.

well my comment was also made in a joking manner, but also directed towards my confusion that you started a topic showing your intention of spending thousands buying an instrument and using it at a college level, only to "diss" the instrument in lue of the bassoon...

I don't see any problem with mixin'. We all play together, don't we? (Maybe there should be a mixed forum heading). But thank your stars you're not a classical guitarist. Go to the guitar forum and see what they talk about?? I am/was a guitarist, classical and electric rock. But.....OMG! I asked Admin to start a classical guitar section...?
But. Now I'm just an 'umble 2nd. grade Clarinetist. But I love all the wood instruments. Sometime I sneak over to the oboe or bassoon section to see what they're on about. Who knows when I win the Lotto I'll invest in a bassoon (or a Cello) (or a Basset Horn) (Electric Piano) Full orchestra in my bedroom/sitting room/ kitchen/basement/attic/... hey! where did I put the double bass section...oh! there you are - in the garage. Have you all enough elbowing room guys" Maybe I could move a few of them Rolls Royces...

I just graduated from college, and I think for an orchestral setting the bassett horn won't do you much good. I think an Eb or a bass would be mor epractical, and would certainly be better for you and your director. Those parts are generally accessible.
