1. You have a very very weak air stream, there's nothing back it up besides your flat tongue.
2. Way to many grace notes/extras, it did nothing for your performance.
3. Vibrato was airy, and sounded horrible, try not using it next time.
4. Tone was not good, airy, no air stream, just try to keep a nice clear stream.
5. Your fingers were flying around everywhere! Keep them [bold]glued[/bold] to the keys.

Strange last note, what happen?

Oops on my crappy html, it should be:
5. Your fingers were flying around everywhere! Keep them glued to the keys.

Sadly hardness of reeds has nothing to do with tone, or air. ;D

Its just how strong you like you reeds, and how your lips adjust to them. Higher number reeds don't make you any better. But generally, when you play more, your lips get stronger and out-grow weaker reeds.

Find the right reed for you. I don't see your vibrato as being an excuse from flute... you should be able to control your vibrato. Flute is NO excuse to always play with vibrato. Get rid of it. It does nothing for you, until you learn how to play it CONTROLLED!

I am sorry but do not criticize my way of playing. I will not change my style to accomodate you, if I did we would all sound like you and that would be very boring. I am a casual player and I play for fun not sport. And I am sorry, but I think you have left enough negative criticism as is.

and dont act like a smart ass and pretend you know what reed hardness does for me cause u dont

I am sorry

I'm sorry, but I disagree, Musical Panda is quite on the right track on the reed strengths there. Also the vibrato should be almost like a switch, you can turn it on ANYTIME and shut it off ANYTIME.

Don't take the comments personally, they are only to help you get better, most people comment from pure experience.

Excuse me? A "smart ass" on reeds? I'm just telling you, find the perfect reed for you that maximizes your tonal potential.... O_O. Spaz much. You asked for advice, I'm giving it to you. Isn't that why you made this topic?

You'll find that almost all professional musicians absolutely agree with being able to control vibrato... Go, play with vibrato. Do what you want, I'm not giving you anymore advice, since obviously you don't like to hear how you can improve on peoples way of what THEY think is good playing. You obviously don't want to hear any criticism at all.

I just listened to your vid and left a comment. Basically don't post a vid until you can play the instrument properly. It may be your fav tune. But you don't do it justice. I once heard my National Anthem played badly at the end of a session on a banjo!!! Ahhhhh! I didn't even stand for it it was so bad. The banjo player approached me afterwards and asked why I didn't "respect" the anthem. I asked him the same question!
