I've been looking for a while for a clarinet to buy. I actually play the piccolo & flute, but I've been wanting to try another instrument. I'm not looking for a professional instrument, just something that'll play pretty well. I don't know a lot about clarinets, so I was really needing some help. It will only be used at my house for fun, so please tell me if you think this will be good.

"The instrument does not make the music, you do." -Victor Wooten

So that clarinet would be just as good or bad as any other one. Just make sure you get reeds, because without them, you can't even play it. Also make sure you can put it together, and know how to play it, and know how to clean it, and know how to put it in the case, and know how to put on a reed, and know how to work a ligature, and know how to adjust tuning, and know how to use cork grease, and to have the right embochure, and know how to take it apart without breaking anything, and be able to read the music in a different key than flute, etc. If you can do that, you'll be fine with any clarinet really.

A late reply I know but it was bit mix of bits. The main body parts would be by Boosey & Hawkes. Goodness knows about the bell. The mouthpiece being a modern French style one would throw the tuning out - a problem with B&H clarinets especially the professional models 926 & 1010.
