I remeber I was put on third clarinet for a while htis year to make the secion stronger XD
Really, if your director has any brains, he/she will place he 3 stronges players on 1st Chair of clarinet 1, 2 and 3. That way all the parts come out. I remember that`s how the cycle at my old school worked.
But seriously people, first chair isn`t great. Granted I`m playing tenor sax this year (and I played alto before that, and clarinet before that o.o
it`s the quality of EACH part that matters.
For all of you who enjoy a challenge, play in a musical sometime. I`m playing Reed 5 for Anything Goes, and that`s fun. (Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Bass Clarinet, Bb Clarinet). There`s no discrimination in a musical :P
