Hi all, I have a really airy B-flat and A. Like the ones in the middle of the staff. I was wondering if this has to do with me. Or is it just my clarinet. (I have a Plastic one)

All clarinets are kind of naturally airy on the Bb but there is one way I have found ot fix it, it is kind of hard to use sometimes though. You hit the a key like you would normally and then hit the side key with your right hand the second one from the top, much much better sound, write back if you don`t get what I am saying.

I`m not quite sure which key. lets just say that the side keys are numbered 1 through 4 starting from top to bottom.

then it would be 2, if you started from top to bottom.

i tried that but it gives a completely new note, not a better sounding B flat.

You must be playing the wrong side key, cause I learned this from the first chair in my states band, whatever it is called, so i know it is right, and I have even used it on a tuner and it comes out as a prefect Bb.
