I am expanding my clarinet repertoire and would like tips on good clarinet sonatas. Which do you consider worth learning and why?

Leonard Bernstein sonata, the two Brahms Sonatas, Poulenc sonata, Malcolm Arnold sonata also yu might like to try Five Bagatelles by Gerald Finzi, the Schumann Fantasy pieces and the Weber Concertino. Hope this helps, Graham

Hi,

Heartily agree with the above and would like to add a couple;
-Hindemith Sonata (very good for anyone beginning to move into advanced repertoire)
-Horovitz Sonatina (Brilliant jazz influenced piece (difficult))
-Schumann Romances
-Saint-Saens Sonata (Again, the first 3 movements are a great bridge into the advanced level)
-Stanford Sonata or Three Intermezzi
-Martinu Sonatina (Difficult but marvellous

Have fun!
