Hi,
I just purchased an Eb clarinet off of the internet. It was super cheap, so I thought it was worth the risk. I already play Bb clarinet, but have never even seen an Eb clarinet up close before. It showed up looking very clean and perhaps even new, with a decent case. However, it has thread tenons instead of cork. Has anyone ever played on an instrument with thread tenons before? Any advice? I'm guessing I'm just going to have to go get it corked if I want to be able to play it. I have read that the Eb clarinet is harder to get a good sound out of, but I can barely get ANY sound out of it.
I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about string tenons and if it's possible to play the instrument in its current condition. Please let me know if you have any advice!
Thanks!
