Right now I own a Bb student clarinet and I got very good in the clarinet. I've been playing the Clarinet for 2 and a half years and soon might want to get a professional Clarinet so I can sound better. I've heard that there are Basset Clarinets. Are there ones in Bb? That could be useful when I transcribe a song to Clarinet and have to play those deep notes and play the KV622 Concerto Mozart played (of course I'd have to transcribe it). The reason I don't want an A, but a Bb one is because all my classmates in school are Bb and most songs are written for Bb Clarinet. Please help me.

Thank you.

Buffet R13 or any model. Cost for my 3: 1971: $260 1979: $520 Canadian 1999: $1,997 U.S.
Now: God knows what.

I think you will find that bassett clarinets are only made in A. Re transposing to play A parts on a Bb you will be in very awkward keys.

Selmer - always go for Selmer Paris models rather than US models.

I recently heard someone say they paid about $6,000 U.S. for a new Buffet. This is not much higher than the prices I found googling.
