if you want to move to a slightly larger size if you`re not satisfied with your tone you can, but dont make your reed size higher than a 4 or a 4 and 1/2 and what i do when my reed gets too soft is i buy the size i use and a higher size just to try it and if you dont like the higher size reed or your embonchure is not ready keep the size you`re using now.

Oh yeah the 31/2 vandoren reeds are really good for high notes. I`m going through a little phase here where reeds are really gettin on my nerves becuz the open g and those notes around there are always too "fuzzy"! I had been playing on the La voz reeds.. but I think i`m going to try Vandoren again but just move down to a 3! I` ve been playing...about 4 1/2 yrs. now

Hi. I`ve been playing for 4 years (almost 103% of my total lifetime) and would like to say that I know more than any of you dip$h17$ out there. I don`t care if you`ve been playing for over twice as long as me, cus I`d rock you hard when I was 2 years old.
Keep the short bus in the garage, please. K thx

I perfer #3 vandoren. I have heard that it is better to use a thinner reed if you can still handle the high notes.

Well, Ive been playing for about 8 years, and ive stayed on a size three the entire time, mainly, cause it has the best tone that I have found. Vandoren reeds are great, but I myself prefer the Rico Royals, they have a little more "meat" to them....
