Hi I have been playing the Clarinet since christmas 2002 just like my dad who is woody, 2 replies before me.We play together and we sound great cos we are quick learners and snappy. I like my clarinet as well as my flute descant, treble, tenor and bass recorders. It keeps us both busy.

I call my clarinet Cloe.

i have a buffet b12 with a standard mouthpeace,and a no2 reed.i find it difficult to blow a nice tune.am thinking of getting a new mpeace,what sort theres so many which one.could someone suggest one please.

Get stronger reeds and dont get a new mouthpiece unless your mouth is broken.Also try to fix your embouchure(lip formation).ttrust me I rock on the clarinet

Yep, I love my clarinets, guys - it`s good to see so many others do, too.

I`ve got three but I don`t know what they are.. true. Oh, well, one is a Chinese plastic I bought here in China, one is a wooden Buffet Yvette I got at home in Australia and the third is also wooden but it`s at home and, true, I don`t remember what it is.

But I love `em. But I`m a poor clarinettist and very conscious of it... but still, I get a buzz out of it... the greatest...

I love playing the clarinet too.(though I havn`t named it yet) Almost everyone else in my band doesn`t hardly practice at all, but I try to practice at least a half hour a day. T

you all sound kinda funny. talking about what chair you`re in in your band and naming your clarinets. i play too, but haven`t named mine. highschool`s in the way for practice, but at least required practice is 15 min. three times a week if taking lessons. Also, i`m automatically 1st chair in my band -- only 6 in it this last school year (3 trumpets, 2 trombones, and me-- only girl too!). Any good names for a Buffet E-11 that looses corks all the time??? lol

I band I generally play bass clarient, so I don`t have much competition, but in my personal band and in jazz band next year I play clarinet. I play for two-three hours often too. Don`t be ashamed! Clarinetists, unite!

I call all of my clarinets my children. its really great. i practice each one for an hour on the weekends.As you can tell i am obbsessed too. once I had just gotten a new reed and i was breaking it in in the cafetieria. a theacher asked me what i was doing and i siad sucking my reed. she thought i said sucking my weed and got really mad, she sent me to the principals office.

hmm.....i named my clarinet as WIFE!hehehe mine is a Selmer Signature...and SHE IS HOT!haha....worked well every performances i have with my army band!chEERS!!

i play mandolin and guitar and only hit this site cuz my sis is a clarinetist (who IS actually good) and just so ya`ll know, ya`ll are all dorks just lying about how long you practice to make it sound like you`re good when actually you ALL SUCK! oh yeah, and i`m TOTALLY impressed that you call your clarinets "baby" how cool is that? get off the internet and get a life!!
