Hi, I have been playing the Clarinet for a year and a half now. I can play some high notes but everytime i do it either doesn`t play at all or when it does it plays for half a minute and then it lets out a loud shriek. Does anyone have any tips on how I can hit those high notes??

1. Fast air and good air pressure
2. A steady airstream
3. A slightly higher tongue position
DO NOT clamp down on the reed. It will get them out, but it will give a pinched sound, and you will start doing it in your lower register. Your embouchure stays the same no matter what you do- it is the inside of your mouth that changes.
