I`ve just bought my very first copy of the Mozart K622 around 2 weeks ago and I`m starting this most famous of all pieces in the classical clarinet repertoire.

It is the G. Shirmer edition with piano reduction written in the transposed key of B-Flat (from A) by Eric Simon

So far, I`ve pretty much tackled the Adagio and the first two pages of the opening movement. I`ve looked at the Rondo and could play the main theme, although very uneven in the sixteenth note runs, especially when going over the altisimo register.

But my main focus right now is the 1st movement, and I`m finally starting to get the hang of it.

I`ve also listened to several recordings and have decided that my favorites are Miltos Mumulides with the Cologne New Philharmonic and Sabine Meyer with the great Berlin Philharmonic. However both are A Major editions played with the basset clarinet in A.

Well, does anybody else have any mozart concerto stories to share or advice and comments to give out?
