Hi
Out of the blue, my band director gave me an E flat clarinet to try. I am having a difficult time finding method books for this instrument. It sounds fine playing B flat clarinet music, but obviously this will be acceptable in band.
Could anybody recommend some method books?
Thanks!

Good luck on that. I`ve always wanted to play a different one besides the bass clarinet and the B flat. I`ve also heard that the alto clarinet is completely useless and is a very pointless instrument to play.

Why not just use a regular method book? My biggest tip is to play scales a lot, including a slow cromatic scale. Have a tuner handy, as efers are a beast to play in tune. By figuring out what you have to do to play in tune, you will accomplish more than most.

I know many people who say that alto clarinets are useless. They just reach high notes and are extremely difficult to tune.
