I was looking for a new bass clarinet. Just some background: I am a freshman in high school but I play in an advanced band with mostly juniors and seniors. I am going to play bass clarinet through college and maybe even after that. Now, I had my eyes on the Buffet Prestige 1193 Bass, but it costs $7000 and the descriptions do say it is for serious college or professional players. I am looking for some feedback: is it worth the money? Am I good enough for it? Ect. Please give some alternative models if you can.
