Howdy all!

I was just wondering how many people on this forum are/were music majors in university. I am planning on being a music major and I have been recruited by 6 programs. I am only 15 and I plan on waiting a year or two before going since they all told me that when I want to go their offers are still open. Does any one here have some advice for me, the aspiring musician who will be heading off to university as a music major?

Are you sure this is what you want to do?

Being a proffesional musician has it`s benefits... and it`s turnoffs. Make certain this is not a passing fancy. That`s an understatement way of putting it, I suppose, but don`t make a decision you may regret, especially so young in life. For example - how does one know he`s in love, until he actually falls in love?

Other than that, good luck with whatever you plan to do with your talent, and happy clarinetting

I know this is what I want I have been involved in music since ever. I would like to become a high school teacher with my two teachables being music and history. This is what I want.

good on u jen go for it and I wish you all the best, just wish I had an inch of your`re talent, maybe once your`re teaching and visiting the uk look me up and we can play 3 blind mice together...

Be prepared to practice 6 hours a day to stand up to their standards......some university programs are crazy like that and I`ve hard millions of horror stories.
