Hey I have been a clarinet player for 5 years and love it. But I have a few questions? What types of clarinets do you all know about?( I know of Bb, bass, contrabass, Eb, and ive heard but not sure of a-Ab, C, and jazz) Where can I see pics of them? And also what are some things to look for when buying an Eb Clarinet

Search on Google for different types of clarinet.

eBay is not a good place to buy instrument unless you have decided a certain model and you trusted all sellers.

I disagree! Ebay is a terrific place to buy instruments. I have had many, many successful encounters on ebay, and lots of terrific deals. You just have to know what you`re doing. Namely, do your research and you`ll be fine.

There are five "standard" clarinets. E-flat sopranino, B-flat soprano (the usual one), E-flat alto, B-flat bass, E-flat contra-alto, and B-flat contrabass. There is also an A clarinet, which is almost the same as a B-flat soprano. It`s used in an orchestral setting so that the keys the music is in are easier for the clarinet (instead of playing in B major, it would play in C major).

If you`re looking to buy a clarinet, see a professional dealer. Don`t buy a good clarinet off a website without testing it first. If you tell me what general area you live in, I`ll help you find someone, as well as recommending brands and models to try.
